Enchanting rules

In order to create a magical item the caster must know the enchantment spell as well as the spell that is to be enchanted upon the item. In example To create a staff of stone missile, the caster must know both the enchant, and the stone missile spell. When creating items, a GM must be present to witness. A log of the creation must be sent to the FC.

Proper materials must be found. One week of no rp to find or two weeks to get if bought from a merchant, and at Four times (4x) the cost. Time for the casting is one week per enchantment. If the enchant spell fails, the item is ruined and completely worthless.

There is also a 50% chance that all items needed for the spell casting cannot be found. Adding one more week to the crafting time. Roll before the creation rolls to find out, on a 00-49 the items are found and on 50-99 it will take more time. When crafting, it will take one week for each enchantment to be placed upon the item. If at any time during the enchanting phase, a failed enchant happens, no more enchanting can be done on the item. This may make the enchanting a rather nice item all but impossible. This is just the way things go at times, and makes a master enchanter very welcomed to have around, as well as a rich person.

Crafting Rules

We all like to make things, just some do this so that they can earn a living. Some make simple things and some are grand. To see if you make a usable item, you will need to make a SD roll, Modified by your crafters bonus. Only a GM can witness this crafting roll, the entire log will need to be sent to the FL for verification and registration if needed. The log needs to contain a description of the item, the roll and the GMs statement, as well as the bank number of the person making it. If it is being made for a person, that person needs to be present or at least needs to send in their bank numbers and a purchasing letter. You do not need to roll under your SD number to create the item. If you do not roll a CF (Treat a TF as a CS when crafting), you have successfully created what you attempted. CF's also need to be logged and sent in to the FL as the cost of the item materials will need to be deducted from your account. If you make a successful roll that is equal to or less than one half (1/2) your SD , modified by your crafters bonus, then you have created an item of high quality. If your roll is one quarter (1/4) of your SD, then the item is of Exceptional Quality and is suitable for enchanting. High Quality and Exceptional Quality items will require the issue of a registration number which the FL will assign.

Of course, the creation of the item assumes that you have the proper tools and materials to make something. Cost of the materials will be no less than 1/2 the cost of the item on the normal ordering page for such an item. If it is a custom item, then the person will set a price and the FL will assess a cost to make price for the item based on all information gathered. Items of High Quality will be worth two times (2x) as much as a normal item. Items of Exceptional Quality will be worth four times (4x) as much as a normal item.
